For a Disney Magazine cover story on The Incredibles, Mike Carroll and I trekked to Pixar Animation Studios in California to photograph Brad Bird and his stellar animation crew.

Brad is always looking for that extra something in his films, so we invited him to stand on a bridge that spans the studio and strike a hero’s pose for us.

It was hard to choose just one image for the story, so we ran with six of them, in a comic-book format. Pixar’s other animators were just as much fun to work with, and two months later they had another huge hit on their hands . . . incredible!
