We considered ourselves doubly lucky to work with Robert Holmes on this guide to the wines of California, because not only did he write about wineries all over the state, he also took the pictures. Not surprisingly, he was named Photographer of the Year by the Society of American Travel Writers in 1990, 1992 and 2010.

We helped Interlink Books redesign this series to fit better in the hand so it could be taken along on the road. We also improved the navigation within the book so readers can find each region more easily.

Sadly, we didn’t get to do any of the research!
